I already mentioned it in my Facebook status, and then discovered I'm friends with a second or third cousin who left JWs and went back. I wonder how long it will take her to delete me...

And it took less than three hours — she even blocked me from searching for her!

I said:

I don't think it has anything to do with Bible standards, Brenda — it's the mind-control cult aspect of JWs that it the organization's big problem.

She replied:

HAHAH!! Funny I have been in and out quite easily and have been treated with respect no matter what decisions I have made. Only those with a weak mind think people can control theirs. Just in case you didnt know, L. Ron Hubbard isnt a Jehovahs Witness, and Harry Potter is a fictional character.No one is forced to do anything at all. If there were any mind control at all, dont you think EVERYONE on earth would be a witness?

I don't get the bit about L. Ron Hubbard and Harry Potter...

Moxie, I went to the magazine site and got teary eyed. It is well done and I think it is presented so rationally that it can help many people outside and in the org. Then I read your experience and got teary eyed again. Thank you!

Wow you guys... thanks for all your encouraging words. This has taken us several months to bring to this point and to be honest I'm blown away by the response across the Internet. The feedback we're getting is absolutely overwhelmingly positive and its really sinking in that this could be an incredibly valuable tool for exiting JW's in the future. Unbelievably by the end of the day yesterday the site was already showing up in Google and had hundreds of visitors.

If you guys have ideas for future issues please let me know. This magazine belongs to everyone and we want to include as many people as possible.
