Fornication vs adultery

Postby prariesgal » Tue Jul 31, 2012 6:52 pm

What's the difference between fornication and adultery?
Someone asked me that question and said they are basically the same thing. He said, do you get disfelowshiped for fornication AND adultery or one or another?

Lol! I was feeling stupid here because here's another example of 'go around' thing that the wts put us through.

Enlighten me?

According to the watchtower, as well as other religions, fornication is a general term referring to sex between people who are not married to each other. Adultery is more specific. It describes sex between people, at least one of whom is married (to someone else, of course.)

Bestiality is bestiality, regardless of whether you (or the animal, for that matter) are married. Just in case that was your next question.

I thought the watchtowel also considering just unpure thoughts were fornication too.
But, as you well know, appearances can be deceiving, which brings me back to the reason why we're here. We're not here because we're free. We're here because we're not free. There is no escaping reason; no denying purpose. Because as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist.

they do. they read heavily into jesus' words of committing adultery in your heart for looking at a married woman. they apply this to single people looking at single people as committing "fornication" in your heart.

apparently people are supposed to decide to get married based on a shallow social relationship where your only contact with the person is phone calls and sterile interactions in a group of people. dont even think about what your sex life would be like with this person. dont think it, dont watch movies that have sex, dont listen to songs that sing about it. everyone knows the bible says that the wedding night should be awkward and traumatizing.

I thought Adultery is if one of you is married and have sex with someone other than your partner, and fornication is just a general term for ones who have sex without being married. This is what I have been brought up to believe from the JW'S?

I committed fornication and adultery of the heart weekly. Yeahhhhh sista, what up... Oh, nevermind, I did not even TALK to you, but we had sex from across the convention floor...

The stupid crap we all put up with.

Although I must admit, most sisters would be involved in non-consensual fornadultery without knowing it. I was lusty, and those dresses looked good when they were on the floor, - all in my head, of course.

According to their thought process on this, shouldn't we all have had to go and 'confess' the fact that we had sex with someone, but we did not know who or when it happened, due to the fact that someone just might have been 'heart' fornadultering about us?

Was for me. My ex wife was a virgin when I married her, and let me tell you, I don't ever want to be with another virgin again. Aside from lack of ability, being told "take it out, it hurts" leaves one feeling like an accidental axe murderer. Yeah. Never again.
